New Employment Laws for California Employers in 2012
Just when California employers thought doing business in California could not get any more challenging, last week Governor Brown lent a last-minute “helping” hand by signing a flurry of bills passed by the legislature. Touching on issues ranging from independent contractors to agricultural workers to compensation plans for employees paid commissions, the new laws, which mostly go into effect January 1, 2012, present a grab-bag of important changes which will impact each and every employer which does business in the Golden State.
