JDTP Sponsors Coro Southern California’s 2nd Annual Family BBQ Irvine, CA – JDTP recently sponsored Coro Southern California's second annual Summer Family BBQ at the home of the Honorable Mike Roos in the San Fernando Valley. Despite the heat, Coro graduates and supporters turned out for a sun-drenched afternoon of burgers, snow cones, ice cream and fun. Several electeds were there, including former Los Angeles City Controller Rick Tuttle, former Los Angeles City Councilman David Cunningham Jr., California Assembly Speaker Emeritus Mike Roos, Los Angeles Community College Trustee Mona Field and Los Angeles City Councilman Bernard Parks. Everything was “on the record” as members of the 4th estate attended, including Shirley Jahad, host of All Things Considered on KPCC 89.3 FM, and Randal C. Archibold of the New York Times.

Coro trains ethical, diverse civic leaders nationwide. Coro leaders develop skills; master tools needed to engage and empower communities; gain experience in government, business, labor and not-for-profit community organizations; and participate in special community and political problem solving processes.
