M. Alim Malik has represented employers in a wide variety of cases before the Courts and in arbitration (ADR), including proceedings involving trade secrets and non-competition clauses where key employees change employment, age discrimination, sex discrimination, national origin discrimination, disability discrimination, sexual harassment, hostile work environment, wrongful termination, Labor Code violations and cases involving administrative penalties levied against employers. His experience includes trials, participation in administrative proceedings leading to the dismissal of fines levied against an employer, handling cases before the State Personnel Appeals Board, through to the settlement of cases involving issues under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the California Fair Employment Housing Act (Govt. Code 12920 et. seq.), and related federal statutes. Mr. Malik has also advised clients on reducing the risks of employee lawsuits through planning, management seminars and the creation of employment documents. Mr. Malik has also advised developers on the applicability of prevailing wage legislation to development projects.
